Not having sugar is very inconvenient. I understand it’s healthy to cut it out but that doesn’t mean it’s not inconvenient.
It was cold Friday night and I really wanted hot chocolate. So I rummaged through my pantry and looked for anything that I could potentially turn into hot chocolate and was paleo friendly/sugar free.
Although I tried going totally sugar free with my hot chocolate, it really needed a bit of sweetness so I cheated with honey. But hey, it’s better than the granulated sugar right?
It will never taste like the real artificial sweet hot chocolate, but, it does the trick. Except, I made it so rich that I should just call it, “So rich, you can only take a shot” hot chocolate.
But, in the event that you would like to try this, here is the recipe. I’m going to continue my search for a paleo-friendly sugar free hot chocolate recipe for those cold winter nights!
Do any of you paleo-ers out there have a recipe that works for you?
I left my debit card at home. As I was leaving the house, I took it out and left it on the counter. I also took out almond milk and one of my protein shake samples from my Naturopath and left that on the counter as well, unmade 🙁
So, luckily I packed enough snacks for the day which means I’m one snack less than what I should have. But oh well! At least I didn’t run to Starbucks to get food… I think I might need to get rid of my app for the next little while as well since I guess you can consider that a loophole!
I’m surviving day 1. Here’s to hoping the rest of the week goes well!
Being in the digital/web business, I can’t believe that I forgot about accessibility and that pictures are the worst for that… Here’s the recipe below!
1 1/2 cups of almond milk
3 tbsp cocoa powder
2 squares of dark chocolate (50% cacao or over)
1 tsp honey (more if you want sweeter)
Sprinkle of cinnamon
